Andrew von Oeyen, piano; VSO/ Courtney Lewis

This young and captivating American pianist is Juilliard-trained and received the Gilmour Young Artist Award in 1999.  Originally known for his collaborations with violinist Sarah Chang, his recent appearances in a wider circle and his 3 CD’s released on Delos show him to be a force to be reckoned with.  His wonderfully clean and transparent passage work and natural fluency pay strong dividends in Liszt and Debussy.  His Mozart exhibits youthful ardour and a particular lightness of touch.
