Tracy Dahl, soprano
"Winnipeg’s musical treasure…Her electrifying Caro Nome, with each note crafted as a multi-faceted jewel…"
— OPERA TODAY
Canada’s premiere coloratura soprano Tracy Dahl has appeared throughout her career with such opera houses as the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Teatro alla Scala (Milan) and the Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris). Her “superlative coloratura” (Globe and Mail), “deliciously accurate, and stratospheric” (Opera), is regularly singled out by critics.
Although this is her Music in the Morning debut, Dahl is no stranger to the West Coast—in 2014-15 alone Dahl performed with Pacific Opera Victoria in the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor and in concert performances of Candide with Bramwell Tovey and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. In 2009, Ms. Dahl was honoured with the Ruby Award by Opera Canada for outstanding achievements on stage. She received the 2012 WSO Golden Baton Award from the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and in November 2014, Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) honoured her as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners.
