The VSO Institute at Whistler is a music education program that takes place in Whistler for ten days in late-June/early-July, bringing together nearly one hundred advanced music students from around the world, aged 15 to 25, to study in an immersion setting with VSO musicians and Music Director Maestro Bramwell Tovey, in the natural beauty of Whistler. Each year, the Institute culminates in a performance of the music that the students practice and rehearse throughout the Institute.

This year, the Institute Orchestra will perform Rimsky-Korsakov’s exciting Capriccio espagnole, and Mahler’s epic Symphony No. 6. The performance at Whistler is a free concert, and tickets at the Chan Centre are only $15. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the Institute Orchestra from the VSO’s renowned Orchestral Institute at Whistler, performing with Maestro Bramwell Tovey.
