BIZET’S ‘CARMEN’

Bizet’s Carmen has cast its irresistible spell over audiences since it was first premiered. Drama is always present, passions flow richly, and all the music is entrancing. This VO production sets Carmen in post-Franco Spain -- with all its steamy colour -- and features two most distinguished sopranos alternating in the title role: Kate Aldrich and Ginger Costa-Jackson.  Jacques Lacombe conducts what is bound to be both a visually and musically-engaging performance of this operatic masterpiece.
