Over the past 40 years, Murray Perahia has exhibited supreme mastery over almost the entire piano repertoire. Everything he plays has a wonderfully-jeweled elegance and tonal subtlety and demonstrates a perfect balance of intellect and sensitivity. This concert maintains his usual variety, running from Bach through Schumann and Chopin, and includes Beethoven’s always demanding ‘Appassionata’ sonata.
