MONTEVERDI’S LAST BOOK OF MADRIGALS, SOLOISTS, PACIFIC MUSICWORKS, STEPHEN STUBBS, DIRECTOR

This is a particularly inspiring concert since we have the opportunity to see Seattle’s much-lauded Pacific MusicWorks.  There could not be more important music than Monteverdi’s Eighth Book of Madrigals (1638). Monteverdi’s explicit aim was for music to express the entire range of man’s passions and this music is standard setting for its variety, emotional reach, and imagination.
