PACIFICA QUARTET

Over the past decade, this ensemble has demonstrated its enviable position among young American quartets, currently Quartet-In-Residence at Indiana and recently recording a complete Shostakovich quartet cycle to great acclaim for Cedille.  Known for their intensity and exuberance, this concert will see the ensemble perform Shostakovich’s 9th quartet, Haydn, and now Beethoven’s Quartet, Op. 59. No. 2  The last work replaces the originally-intended collaboration with the venerable Menahem Pressler in the Dvorak Piano Quintet; the pianist unfortunately will not appear.
