SEQUENTIA

SEQUENTIA is one of the world’s most respected and innovative ensembles for medieval music.  It is an international group of singers and instrumentalists, united in Paris under the direction of the legendary performer and teacher Benjamin Bagby.  Dedicated to the performance of Western European music before 1300 based on meticulous and original research, it celebrated its 35th anniversary last year. This is the first concert in the ensemble’s 2014 North American tour.  Of their over than thirty recordings, many, including the works of Hildegard von Bingen performed at this concert, have received the most prestigious international awards.  The purity and sublime beauty of this singing is remarkable.
